Though the Waco Mammoth Site just opened at the end of 2009, there are big plans for the future.

Congressional legislation is currently pending to create the Waco Mammoth National Monument and to include the site as a unit of the National Park Service.

Fundraising is also taking place for the Phase II developments, which include an expansion of the Welcome Center, a variety of park amenities and additional parking.

In the coming months, the Waco Mammoth Site will be expanding its educational efforts and tour options.
