The Waco Mammoth Site is open to the public Tuesday - Saturday.** Visit Us!

Hours of Operation:
Tuesday - Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday & Monday - Closed

Public interpretive tours are also given throughout the day.  The last tour begins at 4:15 PM.

In the case of inclement weather (heavy or severe rain, snow or ice),
please call in advance to ensure the site is open.

**The site is closed every Sunday and Monday,
along with Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.**

Seniors (over 60) $6
Child (4 -12) $5
Student (with ID) $6
Military (with ID) $6
3 and under: Free
Group Rates***: $1 off groups of 20 or more

Only one discount per admission.

The Waco Mammoth Site is located at 6220 Steinbeck Bend Road in Waco, Texas.

From Interstate 35:  Take Exit 335C and turn west onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. Continue on MLK for approximately three miles. You will continue going straight past the Lakeshore Drive intersection as MLK turns into Steinbeck Bend Road. The Waco Mammoth Site will be on the left, approximately one mile from Lakeshore Drive.

ADA Accessible:  The Waco Mammoth Site is an ADA accessible facility that provides a enjoyable experience for everyone. The facility includes accessible parking between the Welcome Center and the Dig Shelter.

To get to the Dig Shelter, visitors will travel down a concrete pathway that winds through native oak and mesquite trees. The trail is a quarter-mile long and passes by a shaded picnic area, along with a plaza area featuring a limestone sitting ledge. Once inside the shelter, a suspended walkway and ramps provide an overhead view of the exhibit. Please ask staff at the Welcome Center for mobility assistance in order to better enjoy your visit to the dig shelter.
